Introduction

The Amman Academy has been popularly known for over 30 years as one of the most prestigious institutions in the region. To expand its educational and commercial activities, a new building has recently been added to the actual site to host theater performances, which includes a multi-purpose room for meetings and other events. International New Technical Est. (INTE), an integrator firm which specializes in theater installations, was commissioned to bring the Academy’s ambitious vision to completion.

Challenge

The Amman Academy´s intention was to create a world-class versatile theater venue, equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology capable of creating an immersive experience for the audience, and most importantly, able to adapt to the different needs of every show. In addition, the Academy required an adjacent multi-purpose room that could be used for meetings or as a lounge for the staff. In terms of sound, DAS Audio ticked all the boxes, providing a wide array of versatile and easy-touse solutions capable of addressing all the audio needs in both spaces.

Theater

With a seating capacity for approximately 437 people, the Amman Academy Theater required a first-class sound system to complement the facility. Consequently, the main sound system was built around four Aero-20A and Aero-20 12A, as well as four Artec-508A systems as frontfil. These were augmented by four LX-118A line array subwoofers and 12” and 15” Road loudspeakers.

Nazzal: “The audio distribution is impressive. The difference between the first and the back row is less than 3dB: the human ear cannot even perceive it. The sound is exceptionally clear, which is one of the most important aspects to consider in a theater hosting drama and music performances. DASAim technology has been employed to optimize SPL distribution, tonality and frequency response throughout the audience area. Audio is distributed using a Cat7 cable and managed with the DASNet software and the DSP-2060A.”

At the Academy, DAS Audio´s Application Engineer, Álvaro Plumed, was in charge of the design and optimization of the sound system, successfully fulfilling all the audio requirements of the venue.

Multipurpose Room

Adjacent to the theater is Amman Academy ´s multi-purpose room, designed to provide management and production teams a space to hold meetings for up to 75 people. Eight CL-6T and two ARTEC-315.96 loudspeakers were installed in the ceiling and wall respectively, supported by PA-1500 and PA-900 amplifiers. INTE carried out the project with a high level of quality, providing the academy with a reliable and durable audio installation that offers a captivating sonic experience.
