Fuerteventura en Música 2016

Since its first edition in 2004, the increasingly popular Fuerteventura en Música festival has put the Canary Island´s Fuerteventura, on Spain’s musical map. Celebrated at La Concha beach in Cotillo and boasting a flawless professional sound system by DAS Audio, the 2016 Fuerteventura en Música was a resounding success that featured a star-studded line-up of artists including Molotov, Sargento García, Conjuro Chamán and La Yegros.

Event organizers once again called in sound reinforcement company Audioluz Canarias to design and install the sound solution for the event. With Francisco Rodríguez and brothers Roberto and Eduardo Santana at the helm, the Audioluz Canarias team faced the challenge of designing a versatile system that could be used for all ten festival performances. After analyzing the specifics of the event, the sound technicians decided to draw on DAS Audio’s Aero Series 2 catalog of products and deployed a main PA of 20 DAS Aero-40A (ALAS™) powered line array systems in two linear hangs on either side of the stage in a classic L-R configuration.

The Aero-40A systems were paired with ten of DAS Audio’s new and state-of-the-art UX-221A subwoofers. These high-performance units, which feature a dual 21″ speaker and a 3400 + 3400 Wcontinuos amp, were groundstacked in a cardioid configuration in front of the stage. Front fill duties were handled by eight DAS Aero-12A systems, which were set up at the front of the stage to ensure superb coverage for the festival’s down-in-front fans.

Side fill for the groups performing at this year’s Fuerteventura en Música was handled by two sets of four DAS Aero-12A line array systems stacked on a high-performance DAS LX-218A powered subwoofer. The artists also had a battery of DAS SML-12A powered stage monitors at their disposal; these versatile systems easily adapted to the different audio requirements of each performance.

The combined response of the DAS systems that Audioluz Canarias brought in for the 13th Fuerteventura en Música festival guaranteed massive sound and full coverage for the entire audience area. As one of the most anticipated events on the Canary Islands’ festival calendar, the celebration –which enjoys the full support of the local authorities through the local council Cabildo de Fuerteventura– brought in over 15,000 fans with top-notch performances paired with a spectacular island climate, beach, and campsite mere steps away from the main stage.
