The Event and Artec Series provide enhanced quality sound at the Said-Galiev auditorium in Kazan
DAS Audio systems were elected for their clarity, reliability and ease of use to upgrade the sound system at the Said-Galiev Cultural Center in the residential district of Derbyshki in Kazan, Russia.
The Said-Galiev Cultural Center, built in 1959, completed the remodeling of its facilities in June 2020. The objective was to preserve the building’s Stalinist heritage and to provide its halls with a state-of-the-art sound system that would help attract a younger audience and enhance performances, while offering ease of use, configuration and adjustment with the versatility to adapt to the variety of shows offered.
For this project, LTM Music Company, our exclusive distributor in Russia, with vast experience in audio, lighting and mechanical machinery for theatres across Russia, carried out the installation of the systems in two halls of the venue: the main auditorium with capacity for 560 spectators and the smaller auditorium with 120 seats.
Two Event-208A line arrays in L-R configuration have been installed in the main auditorium along with the Event-218A subwoofers suspended from the ceiling and positioned on both sides of the Stalinist arch that frames the main stage. In addition, sound reinforcement has been achieved in a discreet and elegant manner, respecting the architecture of the hall, strategically placing the Artec-526A systems as frontfill and under balcony. The mixing and the signal routing are managed by the Allen & Heath DLive-CDM48 MixRack and a Dlive-DKL3500 control surface.
The multipurpose smaller hall required a system that could be used for a variety of applications, always ensuring great sound. The Vantec-15A systems and two Vantec-18A subwoofers in L-R configuration on both sides of the stage were the ideal choice for the hall together with the Vantec-12A systems as sidefill and the Action-M12A as stage monitors.
