Introduction
In October 2023, the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, played host to an unforgettable live concert by the legendary Spanish superstar, Alejandro Sanz. This iconic event, part of Sanz’s “En Vivo” tour, featured a captivating blend of musical genres, with the artist’s signature pop style infused with elements of flamenco, rock, funk, jazz, ballads, and R&B. Sanz’s remarkable four-decade-long career and his impressive collection of accolades, including four Grammy Awards and twenty-four Latin Grammy Awards, set the stage for an electrifying evening.
At Miami’s Kaseya Center, home to the NBA’s Miami Heat and notable concert venue for many of the biggest acts that travel to South Florida, attendees not only relished Sanz’s performance and the vibrant atmosphere but also witnessed the debut of the new ARA series at his concert.
Players
Alejandro Sanz: Four-time Grammy and twenty-four-timeatin Grammy-winning singer, musician, and composer.
Dynamic Productions: An audio equipment provider based in Orangeburg, NY.
Challenge
The challenge for this monumental event was twofold. Firstly, it involved touring the United States with top-tier audio equipment, including the new ARA series by DAS Audio, and implementing these systems in an iconic venue like the Kaseya Center. Secondly, the production team had to ensure a flawless audio experience for a historic sold-out show, despite facing setup setbacks that left little time for adjustments.
“The challenge was significant. We toured the USA with top-tier equipment and had the chance to use LARA and SARA for the first time in such an iconic venue, and for a historic sold-out show. Despite setup setbacks that left us with little time for adjustments, within just 30 minutes, the system was operating flawlessly. I was struck by the sound quality, the clarity of the vocals, and how easily I could adapt my mix to the venue due to the equipment’s flexibility and power.”

Solution
Dynamic Productions, located in Orangeburg, NY, supplied the equipment, which included 14 LARA-80 units and an additional 2 LARA-100 units used as downfills (in a left/right configuration). These were paired with 18 LARA-SUBs to bolster the low frequencies. With a self-powered design and a cardioid setup, this configuration was an ideal fit for the event. Additionally, 18 SARA-100 systems served as front fills, positioned across the stage.
DAS Audio’s ALMA software delivered complete control and monitoring of every device in the system. Fernando Diaz remarked, “ALMA was another delightful discovery. It’s efficient, intuitive, and extremely effective. It’s a point of pride to see DAS Audio attain this level of excellence! With DASAim, DAS Audio’s directivity control solution, beam setup and optimization become quick, efficient, and straightforward, making SPL optimization smoother than ever.”
Conclusion
The ARA series by DAS Audio proved to be a game-changer for Alejandro Sanz’s “En Vivo” tour at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Despite the challenges of a tight setup schedule, the system delivered outstanding sound quality, flexibility, and control. The combination of innovative technology and exceptional performance left both the production team and the audience in awe.
