Introduction

Bar du Port, on the waterfront of this glamourous destination, offers an unparalleled experience powered by DAS Audio systems. Boasting spectacular views, Bar du Port is one of the first restaurants to open in Dubai´s new and exclusive district located on the waterfront. This new restaurant embodies sophistication and exquisite taste, which required a sound system that could perfectly match these attributes.

Procom Middle East was in charge of providing this new outdoor restaurant project with a complete DAS Audio sound solution. The election of the Spanish brand was primarily based on the wide range of professional products offered by DAS Audio, designed to meet all types of venues and environments. This allowed Procom Middle East to provide high-quality sound throughout the restaurant and optimize sound in every corner of the venue with the flexibility to create the ideal ambience for any occasion.

Challenge

From the start, Procom Middle East was clear about the choice of systems: the Artec series would be the driving force behind the success of the installation. Three key factors influenced the choice of this series: the venue, which required a high-quality, reliable and robust audio system due to its proximity to the sea. The system also had to achieve excellent coverage and powerful sound both indoors and outdoors, on a large deck. Finally, the exclusivity of the venue demanded top-quality materials and exceptional design, essential qualities that the Artec-500 series was able to deliver, making it the ideal choice for this installation.

Solution

In addition to the Artec-508, passive loudspeaker with a single 8C woofer, and the Artec-526A, with two 6P loudspeakers, both for low frequency reproduction, the 6” Artec-506, the 10” Artec-510 and the Artec-s15, bass-reflex subwoofer system, offer high SPL and low frequency reproduction for DJ and music playback. The Artec Series systems feature M-34 compression drivers, which deliver brilliant highs, and birch plywood cabinets with an ultra-compact design, available in black or white, making the system a perfect fit for the job.

Precise coverage and control both horizontally and vertically offered by the models in this series is possible thanks to the symmetrical 80° horn geometry. In addition, the enclosures can be permanently installed by way of optional U-brackets and accessories that allow for multiple configurations. Some of these models are equipped with four threaded rigging points for the AXW-1 adjustable wall bracket and pole- mount sockets, which augment adaptability.

As the perfect companion, the Artec-S15 bandpass bass system incorporates a 15SX low frequency transducer with a 4” voice coil, ideal for accurate and powerful bass reproduction. To increase bass response around the DJ, the Action-218 system was added, achieving uniform coverage. This powerful passive subwoofer system incorporates two 18FW speakers with a 3” coil and 20mm winding depth, double layer and sandwich to boost system power, as well as a new convection circuit that reduces coil temperature, improving the overall performance of the system. All zones were powered by PA series amplifiers selected for their high-power capabilities and sound clarity.

Conclusion

The Bar du Port needed a sound installation to match the excellent hospitality services it offers. The installation carried out by Procom Middle East with DAS Audio systems creates the perfect atmosphere in the venue and thanks to the rugged finish of the DAS Audio systems used, this will be a long-lasting installation that has a lot to offer.
