Introduction
Located in the heart of Pattaya, Thailand, this upscale nightclub is renowned for offering a first-class experience to its guests. Its sophisticated and elegant ambiance creates the perfect setting for performances by internationally acclaimed DJs and live acts of all kinds. As a result, superior sound is key to maintaining the venue´s exclusive appeal. To ensure exceptional sound quality, intelligibility and power, Icon Club selected DAS Audio systems to make every night a truly unforgettable experience.
The challenge
For a venue of this scale, effective acoustic design is crucial. Achieving professional sound quality and uniform coverage throughout the venue was essential to deliver an entertainment experience that encourages customers to return. Moreover, the installation had to meet the high standards of the performances regularly hosted at the venue. The expectations of the artists visiting the Icon Club regarding sound quality are notably high, so the installed systems had to be capable of meeting these demanding standards.
The solution
The systems were provided by distributor PSG Petchsiam Sound Group. The self-powered line array system EVENT-212A was selected to cover the main stage area. This highly versatile system adapts to a wide variety of configurations while providing broad and even coverage with an impressive peak power output of 1000 W. The EVENT-212A incorporates advanced digital signal processing with FIR filters, which results in linear phase response and highly precise audio reproduction. The outcome is enhanced clarity, well-defined percussion and a fuller, more natural audio experience. The intuitive DAScontrol™ technology simplifies configuration, allowing for quick setup regardless of the event. The EVENT-26A system, also chosen for the installation, complements the main system. This ultra-compact and lightweight Class D high-efficiency active line array, equipped with a switchmode power supply (SMPS), is one of DAS Audio´s most acclaimed models. Its superb audio performance perfectly matches the demands of Icon Club.
For low-frequency reinforcement, the EVENT-115A and the UX- 218A were selected. The EVENT-115A, designed to pair seamlessly with the EVENT- 26A, is a compact, self-powered subwoofer featuring a 15” front-loaded low-frequency transducer developed by DAS Audio.
Constructed from durable birch plywood and finished with an ISO-flex protective coating for high durability, it houses an innovative Class D amplifier that delivers 1200 W peak power. The UX-218A adds more low-end power, boasting a dual channel amplifier delivering 2 x 1700 W, as well as cuttingedge Class D technology. The system´s universal power supply, featuring Power Factor Correction (PFC), ensures low power consumption and high efficiency, making it suitable for use worldwide. The system´s advanced electronics, including a fixed-frequency output selector, guarantee exceptional audio fidelity. Additionally, it is equipped with a
comprehensive protection system against overvoltage, high temperature, short-circuit, output overload, and clipping, among others, ensuring safety and extending the lifespan of both the amplifier and the acoustic components.
To achieve optimal sound quality throughout the club, the ACTION-515A systems were deployed. This versatile active model is well-suited for fixed installations as well as portable PA applications. Featuring a 90º x 60º rotatable horn, the ACTION-515A can be positioned horizontally for a range of applications, including as stage monitor or front fill. Complementing this setup, the ACTION-118A, equipped with an 18-inch active subwoofer, effectively handles the club´s low-end demands.
Lastly, the DSP-4080 digital processor was selected to manage the system. Engineered to meet the demands of both fixed installations and live audio applications, this model consolidates the functions of multiple devices into one compact unit.

The Icon Club stands as a benchmark for nightlife, not only in Pattaya but throughout Thailand. The integration of DAS Audio systems has elevated its sound to new heights.
