DAS AUDIO CHEERS THE FESTIVAL UP AT “ANIMA-TE”, IN VILA NOVA DE FAMALICÃO, PORTUGAL
This year’s edition of the Anima-te (Cheer up) festival returns with the exceptional sound of DAS Audio’s Aero, UX, Event, Vantec and Action systems.
Up to 882 people per day will gather between June and August in Vila Nova de Famalicão to enjoy in the open air more than 80 music, cinema and circus acts complying with all the security measures. For this event, the 14,400 square meter site has been divided into 4×2 meter areas, spaced 2 meters apart. Artists like Silvia Pérez Cruz, Katia Guerreiro, Noiserv, Salvador Sobral, Samuel Úria and Daniel Pereira Cristo, among many others, will be performing on the main stage of the festival located in this vast outdoor garden area next to the lake of the Devesa Park.
The company in charge of the festival, Fafmusica Ltd., an enthusiast of DAS Audio systems, contacted Live Sound Ltd., DAS Audio´s distributor and tech-support in Portugal, to provide the equipment, the technical support and the system design for the event, which finally consisted of a combination of compact yet powerful systems drawn from DAS Audio´s Aero, UX, Event, Vantec and Action series.
To achieve the required power and to cover all the listening areas with a clear and uniform sound, the main PA system includes 16 Aero-20A line array units in L/R configuration and 12 UX-218A subwoofers in L/C/R configuration, for powerful and defined bass reproduction. Twelve Event-26A line array systems were used as delay and the Vantec-20A systems were used as sidefill and frontfill, with two and four units respectively. To complete the installation, 12 Action-M512A stage monitors were placed on the stage.
Jose Luis Matos, responsible for Live Sound Ltd., explains that the system, “achieves a high and uniform SPL all over the listening areas. DASnet is used to monitor and configure the systems remotely and we also use the system optimization tool, DASaim (Digital Steering), to obtain constant SPL in the same frequency range all over the audience area. Another important aspect of the system is the easy, fast and safe rigging of the equipment, as only a few operators are needed to safely fly the loudspeakers.”
“The performance of the Aero-20A and UX in this type of outdoor events is flawless,” adds Matos. “With these compact and efficient systems, we can achieve amazing results. It is extremely easy and convenient to use DAS Audio systems: less loading space is needed in trucks, they use less energy, facilitate the work and reduce set up time. And in the end, I can assure you that everyone is very satisfied with what they see and hear”.
