The Music Republic successfully adapts to the “new normal”

The Music Republic, one of the leading music companies on the Spanish music scene, manages a full range of events, from major festivals like Arenal Sound, Viña Rock and Madrid Salvaje to the most successful national and international tours. This company, run by people who “love music”, has decided to adapt to “keep the music playing” as they face the “new normal”.

The promoter turned to DAS Audio systems to put on over 300 concerts throughout Spain this summer in cities including Valencia, Seville, Toledo, Granada, Madrid and Cadiz, with headliners that includes Cepeda, M Clan, El Cigala, Ismael Serrano, El Kanka, Dani Fernández, Rayden, Maldita Nerea, Viva Suecia, Martita de Granà and many more.

The Music Republic opted for systems from DAS Audio’s Aero2 series to deliver flawless sound at the concerts, deploying sixteen AERO-40A and four UX-218A subwoofers in a classic L/R configuration. DASnet was used to control and monitor the systems, in addition to the DASAim optimization tool based on FIR filters, which makes it possible to manage system power in the audience areas (avoiding noise pollution in the surroundings) while seamlessly adapting to different venues and providing a uniform pressure level for the audience.

The start of the summer season was plagued with uncertainty for The Music Republic, with strictly limited capacity and productions that had to be entirely revamped to adapt to the extraordinary conditions imposed by the pandemic.  The company had to tailor each concert to rapidly changing requirements to ensure an event that was safe for all festival-goers.

An added hurdle was that the audience had to remain seated at all times at every one of the concerts The Music Public put on this summer. The company was extremely rigorous in apply newly imposed health regulations, requiring that the audience wear masks at all times, maintain social distancing in all common areas, and prohibited smoking, while having a permanent cleaning service available and providing hand sanitizer throughout the venue.
