La Noche de Cadena 100

DAS Audio Aero Series 2 systems were entrusted to handle the sound at acclaimed radio station Cadena 100’s most anticipated annual event: La Noche de Cadena 100. Held at Madrid’s WiZink Center to a sold-out crowd, the event brought together some of the biggest names in Spanish pop, including Pablo López, Malú, Manolo García, Efecto pasillo, Rosana, Soraya, Amaia and Atacados. The artists joined forces to benefit the Spanish charity Manos Unidos, with all proceeds of the ticket sales going to the Salu project, which promotes the social inclusion of people with disabilities in Ethiopia.

Event organizer Newiscom once again called in full-service provider Fluge Audiovisuales to handle the sound for the concert. Fluge teamed up with DAS Audio to curate a system that would pack the punch needed to fill the 15,000-seat arena while maintaining flawless sound quality. After analyzing the WiZink Center’s specific requirements, the sound technicians decided to deploy systems from the DAS Aero Series 2 catalog of products for this yearly charity concert.

A veritable army of 32 DAS Audio AERO-50 large-format line arrays were rolled out for the main PA, with 16 systems rigged in a classic left/right arrangement on either side of the stage for even coverage across the venue. The system was augmented by eight of the all-terrain AERO-20A line arrays along with 16 of DAS Audio’s UX-221A subwoofers, ground-stacked in front of the stage to flood the WiZink with bass.

To ensure superb sound coverage from the concerts down-in-front fans, the sound team set up eight additional AERO-20A systems for front-fill. The arena’s lateral stands, packed to capacity, were served by 24 AERO-40A advanced line array systems.

For yet another year, LA Noche de Cadena 100 brought together some of Spain’s most popular artists and groups in Madrid for a night packed with fun, surprises, and non-stop music for a great cause. And it also proved yet another successful collaboration between DAS Audio and Fluge, who again delivered outstanding sound to the thousands of fans that descended upon the WiZink Center for a successful three-hour live music show.
