DAS Audio systems for the “Somos Portugal” program on TVI

Portugal’s top-rated program airs on Sunday afternoons and goes on the road every weekend, visiting live performances in the country’s towns and cities.

TVI’s “Somos Portugal” program has recently resumed shooting at locations throughout Portugal following the lifting of travel restrictions, showcasing the rich musical variety of local artists in spots around the country. This puts an end to a restriction that has lasted since June 2020, when the pandemic forced the program to film exclusively in the studio.

The program producer has worked with Pixel-Light to put on the weekly events at both the TVI studios and now again in different venues across Portugal. In charge of overseeing the sound for these events, Pixie-Light decided to opt for DAS Audio professional sound systems supplied by Live Sound, DAS Audio distributor for Portugal.

The company drew from DAS Audio’s Event and Action 500 series to create a range of audio set-ups that depend on the shooting location. Specifically, the program works with 12 Event-26A line array systems and another 12 Event-115A and Event 218A subwoofers, deploying 12 Action M512A systems as stage monitors. All systems are powered, which makes both transport and assembly/disassembly a breeze and ensures the right signal for every piece of equipment.

The system is set up every weekend to fit the requirements of the range of performances and outdoor venues, evidence of the tremendous versatility and adaptability of DAS Audio’s Event and Action 500 systems, as Jose Luis Matos, Live Sound General Manager, points out.

“The Event systems are extremely compact and super easy to transport, set up and configure, which makes them a breeze to move around the country every weekend. They’ve been used both in TVI studios and on outdoor stages in different towns and cities over these past few months and they always deliver excellent sound quality. The comments from Pixel-Light and the program producer underscored these features, essential for touring events like the “Somos Portugal” program.
